Apple's new iPad patent approved: equipped with 24 magnetic coils, transformed into a wireless charging panel
On June 7th, according to a list recently released by the United States Trademark and Patent Office (USPTO), Apple has obtained a technology patent for the iPad. According to the patent description, there are 24 magnetic coils arranged in a 4 * 6 square array below the iPad screen, which can be used to charge the Apple Pencil stylus.
Apple stated in the patent that users no longer need to charge the Apple Pencil separately. Instead, an induction receiver coil is introduced to the Apple Pencil, which can be charged by simply placing it on the surface of the iPad.
In addition, the iPad can also proactively charge the Apple Pencil while users are using it.
In further embodiments, the electronic device and the stylus can establish bidirectional communication through an induction charging circuit to reduce power consumption only when using the stylus.
In addition to charging Apple Pencil, the iPad can also serve as a wireless charging panel, providing wireless charging for devices such as Apple Watch.
