Apple chip performance test: M2 Max and M1 Ultra remain unchanged, while M2 Ultra performance doubles
On June 17th, according to the latest test conducted by YouTube anchor Luke Miani, the performance of Apple's M2 Max chip is basically on par with the M1 Ultra, and in some scenarios it may even be better than the latter; The graphics performance of the M2 Ultra chip is twice that of the M1 Ultra.
M2 Max chip
After testing the M2 Max chip, Blender, Final Cut Pro, 3DMark and other software, as well as the game "Rise of the Tomb Raider," Luke Miani found that the performance of the M2 Max chip was basically the same as that of the M1 Ultra, and even better in some scenarios.
The test results show that the graphics performance of the M2 Max chip is better than that of the M1 Ultra, but the M1 Ultra has more CPU cores and is more capable of handling CPU heavy tasks.
M2 Ultra chip
After testing GPU intensive applications such as Blender 3D and 3DMark, the performance of the M2 Ultra was twice that of the M2 Max, and in Final Cut Pro testing, its export speed doubled. The test results also show that the GPU performance of the M2 Ultra is twice that of the M1 Ultra.
The main reason for the significant performance improvement of M2 Ultra is that Apple has introduced a new Memory controller chip in the M2 series to balance the load among all M2 Ultra cores.
