How to hold an apple? Expected to launch four new Macs in one go!
There is only one week left until the annual WWDC conference! According to the plan, Apple's 2023 Global Developer Conference, also known as WWDC 2023, will start on June 6th Beijing time and continue until June 10th.
According to the release rhythm of previous conferences, Apple will announce upgrades and updates to five major systems: IOS 17, iPad OS 17, macOS 14, tvOS 17, and watchOS 10. Although WWDC 2023 is a grand event for application developers, Apple will also launch some new hardware products at this time. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple is expected to launch four new Macs on its flagship at this year's conference, including the all-new 15-inch MacBook Air.
According to this veteran journalist who has been following Apple for a long time, Apple is expected to launch M2 chip version Mac Studio, 13-inch M2 chip version MacBook Air, 13-inch M2 Pro version MacBook Pro, and 15-inch M2 chip version MacBook Air on WWDC 2023. Before the product announcement, we can first review Apple's existing MacBook product line and predict the new configurations that the new version of the MacBook may bring.
Throughout the MacBook product line, the MacBook Pro comes in 13 inches, 14 inches, and 16 inches, basically meeting the diverse choices of Pro series users. The MacBook Air is still only 13.3 inches and the fringe screen version is 13.6 inches. Although the Air is positioned as portable, light and thin, many users roast that the screen is too small, and call on Apple to add larger members to the Air family.
New 15 inch MacBook Air
According to previous reports, this year's WWDC 2023 Apple will release a 15 inch version of the MacBook Air, which is the largest screen size in history. In terms of configuration, we will still use the M2 chip, which is the same as the M2 version of the MacBook Air. There are also reports of optional configurations equipped with the M2 Pro. For users, such performance is clearly more than sufficient for office use.
Compared to the 13 inch MacBook Air, the 15 inch version is expected to have higher resolution and larger battery capacity. In addition, due to the increase in screen size and body size, the 15 inch MacBook Air will inevitably have greater weight, reducing portability.
13 inch M2 version of MacBook Air and M2 Pro version of MacBook Pro
On November 11, 2020, Apple released its first MacBook Air 13.3-inch laptop equipped with an M1 chip, but its position has not been updated for two and a half years. As the only Air series laptop currently on sale without a bang screen, the 13.3-inch version of the MacBook Air still has many loyal followers, and the lower starting price also meets the needs of low budget users to use the MacBook. Referring to the M2 version of the 13.6-inch MacBook Air, if the old model uses the new version of the M2 chip and still maintains a relatively cheap price, then it is really an increase in quantity without an increase in price!
Similar to the 13.3-inch MacBook Air, the 13-inch version of the MacBook Pro also satisfies some users who prefer small screens but cannot see bangs. The previous 13 inch version of MacBook Pro only had M2 standard processor versions, and this upgrade may bring a 13 inch version of MacBook Pro with M2 Pro processor.
Equipped with M2 Max and M2 Ultra chips for Mac Studio
As the top flagship of today's Mac products, Mac Studio has attracted widespread attention from technology enthusiasts worldwide since its release in May last year. But after a year, Apple has not yet updated its new Mac Studio with M2 Max or M2 Ultra chips after releasing laptops with regular M2 chips. According to previous foreign media reports, Apple is still developing two Mac Studios equipped with new processors, which are likely to be launched in WWDC 2023.
There are also reports that a version of the M3 chip is also being developed, but the first Mac equipped with the M3 chip version is not expected to be released before the end of the year. As for whether Apple will launch four Macs at next week's global developer conference, as well as the configuration prices of each new product, we can only wait for WWDC to officially release and be announced.
