APPLE LCD Screen MacBook Display | A1706/A1708 | Silver

This comes packaged very well to protect the screen. The tools included are cheap, but they work for the job. The only problem was getting enough torque on the handle when trying to remove the hinge screws. I just wrapped some cloth around it and duct taped it tightly to increase the diameter of the handle. Then it worked fine.

To remove the bottom screws you need a pentalob wrench. It is not the same as a Torx wrench, though similar. At first I thought there wasn't a bit for the bottom screws, but under a magnifying glass I saw that the bit labeled 1.2 was the pentalob bit for the bottom screws.

It looks great when installed. Apparently the screen is not True Tone anymore, but I can't really see a difference.

The product pictures in the listing don't show it, but there is the Apple logo on the outside and says MacBook Air on the bottom of the screen just like the original.

Initially thought of get the screen replacement outside, but saw some good reviews if the product and thanks to ton of YouTube videos for replacement.

Follow simple manual instructions, it require patience and will have very tiny screws to handle.

I lost 3 screws and support cover in the setup. Some how manages the extra supported screws. Be very careful with screws.

My Applecare ran out last year and so naturally that's when my laptop (A1706 2016) decides to fall off my bed and crack my LCD. I called a few places including Apple and I kept getting quotes from around $600-700 . I decided to buy this screen and install it myself using a combination of youtube videos and a guide on ifixit(.)com . . There are some cons though, I think it's just a tad bit darker than the original MacBook and the color hue is slightly different. I had to make some adjustments.I'm only giving it 4 stars because the camera quality is HORRIBLE and unfortunately I zoom a lot for work. Now I've had to use my iPhone. really unfortunate.

Although the colors don't really match the original screen, it is sharp and bright.

It works so far so good !
